Jérome Allamargot, decorator, trained from his early years by his father Léo Allamargot, a well-known Parisian decorator. He discovers the taste for finding hidden treasures by antique hunting and combing flea markets. He is trained in decorative painting techniques. He took over the family company in 1993 to continue the creative tradition, which he holds close to his heart.
Once upon a time…
When they met, Jerome and Caroline discovered they shared the same passion for beautiful objects and artistic exhibitions. Some of their favorite artists include Matisse, Gaugin and Warhol. Parents of 2 children, Charlotte and Victor, they needed to furnish and decorate their childrens’ bedrooms. Not satisfied with what they found in the large stores, they go antique hunting for furniture that they fix up and redecorate. The idea to unite their talents has come a long way since then. They often repeated to their kids, Maman t’adore (Mother loves you). They found the name for their company.
In the beginning
In 2003, they created the company Maman m’adore to offer children well-made quality furniture, with a new take on the hand-crafted tradition by using a wide palette of colors and original decors, corresponding to the make-believe world of children. In 2003, they exhibit their first collection in a Parisian boutique in the chic 16th arrondissement, which is a big success. The public finds this innovative collection highly appealing due to the quality of the products, the choice of elegant hand-mixed colors and the creativity. The customized creation of the models are done by special orders only. Pleased that parents and children like their creations, they create new collections each year and renew favorite pieces from past collections. They set up a loft-workshop in the 17th arrondisement in Paris which allows them to work and show their collections on site. They also work at clients’ homes for special creations for childrens’ bedrooms.
The press is soon interested in their collections. Numerous press articles are written (Madame Figaro, Marie-Claire, Elle, Milk, Art & Décoration… ).
Parisian and international decorators from Italy, Switzerland and England work with Maman m’adore for customized projects.
